Frequently Asked Questions

2022 SummeRun Participants

REGISTRATION

How do I register for the SummeRun & Walk?

You can register online for the SummeRun & Walk – you can form a team, join a team, or register as an individual participant. Registration is $35 this year, and we encourage all participants if possible to make a goal for donations to start their SummeRun fundraising campaign and support the fight against ovarian cancer. All donations are 100% tax deductible. If you participated with us last year, you may use your same sign-on creditials.

Will there be event t-shirts this year for the SummeRun & Walk event?

Yes!  We will be offering a 2023 SummeRun participant t-shirt this year to each registered individual. The shirts will be given to participants at the event.

Will ovarian cancer survivors receive a special survivor t-shirt for the SummeRun & Walk event?

Yes!  All ovarian cancer survivors will receive a survivor t-shirt, regardless of fundraising. Survivor t-shirts will be given to participants on event day and our survivor shirt order will be based on information entered during registration.

Is it possible to track my 5K time and submit it for the event?

Yes! We encourage runners to track their time. Click here to join our Strava SummeRun Club to track your walk or run with us. (You will have to download the free Strava app, available to most smart phones or smart watches.) Be sure to get your run/walk in by Monday the 18th!

May I register other people online?

You may only register members of your immediate family who are under the age of 18, and you may do so using your email address for each of them. Anyone who is not a family member or who is over 18 must register themselves with a unique email address.

May I use my login credentials from previous years?

Yes, but only from 2020, 2021, and 2022. Any older credentials will not work and you will need to re-register.

PARTICIPANT CENTER

What is and how do I access my Participant Center?

The Participant Center is the online portal where you can check your fundraising progress, send solicitations and thank you emails, update your Personal Fundraising Page and your Team Fundraising Page (if you are the Team Captain). Need help accessing your Participant Center?  Read this helpful PDF or contact summerun@rivkin.org.

How do I use my Participant Center?

The Participant Center is filled with tools and resources to support your fundraising efforts. If you need support editing your personal or team page, importing your contacts, sending an email, uploading a photo or video, or creating a unique web address – we are here to help!  Contact summerun@rivkin.org

TEAM CAPTAINS

Is there information for team captains to help organizing and motivating a team?

Yes! Please visit the team captain page where you can download the SummeRun & Walk team captain packet.

DONATIONS

Where can I make or turn in a donation?

Donations for the SummeRun can be made online on this site any time through August 31, 2023.

Donations may also be mailed year-round to:

The Rivkin Center

1200 12th Ave S, Suite 1110

Seattle, WA 98144

Download the donation form.

How can I make sure the donation I’m sending will be credited to my team?

Please include the name of the participant you are supporting in the memo area of the check. If you are supporting a team more generally, please include the team name in the memo area, and be aware that team donations are credited to the team captain for bookkeeping purposes. You may also make a general donation to the SummeRun.

My donation didn’t go through, or isn’t showing up on the webpage. What should I do?

Please be patient. Donations typically take a couple of hours to show up on the website. If you have already waited to see if it will display, contact us (summerun@rivkin.org or 206-805-4416)! We want to make sure all of your hard work and generous donations show up on your page within a reasonable amount of time.

My donation was applied to the wrong person. What should I do?

If your donation is showing on the website, but it is not credited to the intended participant, please email or call us, and we will be happy to fix it (summerun@rivkin.org or 206-805-4416).

What information will I be able to keep for next year?

All the information (text, photos, contacts, and anything else) on your Personal Fundraising Page will be stored there for next year. Please move anything you would like to keep onto your Personal Page from your Team Page. Team Page information does not carry over.

DAY OF THE EVENT

What will the event day look like this year for the event?

We look forward to bringing our ovarian cancer community together at our new venue, Seward Park on July 16, 2023. Here is the rough schedule of the day. Close to the event we will post the email, which contains all the event day details.

7:00 AM Check-In & Registration Opens
8:10 AM Survivor Photo (meet at Photo Area)
8:15 AM Pre-event Stretching
8:30 AM Program
8:50 AM Anyone running sent to Start Line
8:55 AM Survivor Parade from Stage to Start Line

Will there be event t-shirts this year for the SummeRun & Walk event?

Yes!  We will be offering 2023 SummeRun participant t-shirt this year to each registered individual. The shirts will be given to participants at the event check-in tent on July 16.

Will ovarian cancer survivors receive a special survivor t-shirt for the SummeRun & Walk event?

Yes!  All ovarian cancer survivors will receive a teal survivor t-shirt, regardless of fundraising.  Survivor t-shirts will be ordered and given to participants based on information entered during registration.

What does the SummeRun & Walk course map look like at Seward Park?

We are excited to be in our new location at Seward Park, located at 5900 Lake Washingtion Blvd. View the course map here.

Will Lake Washington Blvd be closed on July 16 for a "Biking Weekend"? How will I get to Seward Park?

We have learned that the July 16 weekend is a Biking Weekend, which means Lake Washington Blvd is closed to cars. Good news is that Seward Park is still accessible via Rainier Ave and S Orcas St. Your phone's GPS should route you correctly to the park, which has only one entrance.

What about parking at Seward Park?

Parking is available, but limited at Seward Park. There is ample neighborhood parking in addition to the spaces inside the park. Last year participants didn't encounter issues with parking so we don't anticipate any issues this year either. We do encourage participants to carpool or take a Lyft or Uber to and from the event. Participants with mobility challenges can be dropped off at the main roundabout. There are several parking lots in the park as well as street parking in the residential areas leading into the park.
