Welcome to My Personal Page
The picture says it all. I have spent the past 24 years involved at some level with the Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer. My mother Mary Ellen Bissell died 17 years ago from this disease and my wife Lori Ann White passed away exactly 17 years ago today, May 15th as I type this introduction. My position now as Executive Director of the Rivkin Center is born in passion to help all the women who have ever been impacted or will be impacted by ovarian cancer. These 2 women taught me so much about living life with courage, grace and drive to live.
The work of the Rivkin Center is vital for advancing research for ovarian cancer cures because the disease is severely underfunded. With the COVID 19 Pandemic upon us now, we are facing an incredible challenge to raise money to provide for research and for education about ovarian and breast cancer. Today even more we need support from the generous people who have supported us in the past and from new people who can help us continue our amazing mission. The Rivkin Center is a Seattle-based non-profit that works to improve women’s health by helping them prevent, detect early, and survive ovarian and breast cancer. We do this by investing in cutting-edge research to prevent, detect, and cure ovarian cancer, a deadly and under-funded disease, educating women to prevent and detect ovarian and breast cancer as early as possible, and fostering an ever-growing community of survivors, patients, researchers, clinicians, advocates, and supporters.
Here are two ways that you can help us get one step closer to a cure for ovarian cancer:
1. Virtually participate in the event with me and give hope to those undergoing treatment.
2. Help me reach my fundraising goal by making a donation. Click on the "DONATE NOW" button to the right to show your support!
I'd be so grateful if you would join or sponsor me. Together, we can end ovarian cancer.
